Summary
- Build an End Closer ace: Narita Taishin [Nevertheless], already in Global, topped every JP guide, and one Graded League Group A finalist's Narita Taishin won 35 of her 80 races. Her base Mile is D, so bring Mile sparks (aim for A or S).
- Add a Pace Chaser, the most stable style: Sakura Chiyono O [Strength in Full Bloom] or Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories]. A JP post-event review says the Graded League split between Pace Chasers and End Closers, and a Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] won one Group A final.
- Daiichi Ruby (Late Surger + debuffer) was the most used Uma in JP, but she is not in Global yet (her Global banner is estimated around 2026-12-11). Without her, Late Surger is only viable (Bamboo Memory, King Halo [Cheerleader in Noble White]).
- Do not bring a regular Front Runner: every guide rated the style worst and room matches had very few. A Runaway only disrupts opposing Front Runners; it rarely wins.
- Stats: Speed 1450-1500, Stamina 601-700 (601 is the course-bonus line; 650-700 is safer on Heavy), Power 1200+, Guts 900-1200, Wit 1200, Mile S.
- Key skills: Lightning Surge (from the Daiichi Ruby Power SSR, already in Global), Encroaching Shadow, the inherited uniques Let's Pump Some Iron! and Louder! Tracen Cheer!. For Pace Chasers: Budding Blossom, Neck and Neck, Mile Maven. Green skills: Left-Handed ○ and Spring Runner ○ first. Skip final-straight speed skills and No Stopping Me!.
Guides: Taishin + Ruby + debuffer; Ruby also supports the team.
Running styles
Styles the guides favor: End CloserPace ChaserLate Surger
Use is the share of rival Umas that ran each style in Japan: how popular it was, not how often it won.
| Style | Verdict | Use in Japan | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| End Closer | Best | not counted | From guides Top-rated in every JP guide: SS in two (one of them for Narita Taishin specifically), ★5 in a third and ★★★★ in a fourth (Narita Taishin ★★★★★). A JP wiki ranked training value End Closer ≥ Pace Chaser > Late Surger >>> Front Runner; its post-event review called End Closers the explosive option, able to beat much stronger teams when their accelerations fired. Downside: high variance; swinging wide on the final corner can drop even a top Narita Taishin to last. |
| Pace Chaser | Strong | not counted | From guides The most stable style. With so few Front Runners, Pace Chasers often take the lead easily. One finalist's guide gave it ★★★★ (Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] ≈ Sakura Chiyono O [Strength in Full Bloom] > Daitaku Helios). In one room-match tally, Sakura Chiyono O beat both Narita Taishin and Daiichi Ruby on win and top-2 rate with under half their starts (numbers were in images and are lost). A JP post-event review: the Graded League split between Pace Chasers and End Closers. |
| Late Surger | Viable | not counted | From guides Daiichi Ruby carried the style (most used in room matches; debuffs at the start of late-race; one finalist won their final with her), but her win rate was below Narita Taishin's and Sakura Chiyono O's. A JP wiki: other Late Surgers should just be End Closers. Daiichi Ruby is not in Global yet; the alternatives (Bamboo Memory, King Halo [Cheerleader in Noble White], Oguri Cap) are a tier lower. |
| Front Runner | Weak | not counted | From guides Rated worst everywhere (★ in one finalist's guide, 'really tough' in a JP wiki; another guide: a lone Front Runner rarely wins). Few were fielded because back-style accelerations got stronger and the 525 m straight favours duels. A well-built one can still win if there is no Runaway and nobody duels it; it needs Speed Eater, inherited Angling and Scheming plus Victoria por plancha ☆, and Unrestrained. |
| Runaway | Weak | not counted | From guides Holds position (high Stamina plus Unrestrained) but gives up a lot of final-straight power and rarely wins (one course analysis). Its use is as a disruptor: it kills opposing Front Runners and the Seiun Sky debuff plan. Silence Suzuka was rated A-tier for this; Daitaku Helios as a Runaway underperformed. |
Expected room
Front Runners per room: no source counted them. Runaways per room: no source counted them. Anecdote
No source gives a usage percentage per style, so there is no '× 9' count. Qualitatively, every source agrees that Front Runners were very rare and most teams were 1 front-ish + 2 back. The only full room on record (one Graded League Group A final, 9 runners) had 0 Front Runners, 5 Pace Chasers, 2 Late Surgers and 2 End Closers. One player noted Round 2 had even fewer Front Runners and Pace Chasers than Round 1.
Umas
What Japan used and what the guides recommend, one card per outfit. A recommendation is a guide author's priority, not a chance of winning.

In Japan: Tier 1 / SS in four JP guides and one room-match tally; #1 in one player's 500+ room matches. One Graded League Group A finalist's Narita Taishin won 18/40 races in Round 1 and 17/40 in Round 2 (anecdote). From guides

In Japan: Most used Uma in one room-match tally; SS in two JP guides, ★5 in a third; one finalist won their final with her. Her late-race debuff also helps teammates. Her win rate trailed Narita Taishin's (for the Group A finalist above: 11/35 in Round 1, 6/40 in Round 2). Not in Global; her Global banner is estimated around 2026-12-11. From guides

In Japan: Tier 1 in one room-match tally (best win and top-2 rate there), S in one JP guide, top Pace Chaser in one finalist's guide. Much of that came from her evolved Speed Star (4 s) and evolved Spring Spectacle, and Global has no evolved skills. From guides

In Japan: Comes with Mile Maven and Neck and Neck; S in two JP guides, ★4 in a third, top Pace Chaser in one finalist's guide, #5 in one player's 500+ room matches. Won one Graded League Group A final from the lead (anecdote), but her room-match win rate was low. From guides

In Japan: S in one JP guide, ★5 in another; one room-match tally: few starts but a fairly high win rate. One course analysis prefers her as a Pace Chaser; some guides used her further back. From guides

In Japan: The #2 Late Surger after Daiichi Ruby in one finalist's guide (her unique can trigger Lightning Surge); A in another guide, ★4 in a third. From guides

In Japan: S in one JP guide, A in another, ★4 in a third. Strong when it lands, but her unique only fires from 5th-9th, which this back-heavy field made unreliable (one Group A finalist: her win rate fell from 30% in Round 1). Her unique is also the standard inherit for back styles. From guides

In Japan: Budget pick: S in one JP guide, A in another and in one room-match tally (strong unique, decent room-match win rate), and one player's budget recommendation. Works as Pace Chaser or Late Surger. From guides

In Japan: S in two JP guides; the budget team of one of them uses her as a Pace Chaser. She is good as a Front Runner only if she gets the lead, which the lack of Front Runners makes easier. Her unique is a key inherit for front styles. From guides

In Japan: Pre-event SS in two JP guides (★5 in a third; #4 in one player's 500+ room matches), but one room-match tally found she underperformed, often swinging wide. Not in Global; her Global banner is estimated around 2026-11-06. From guides

In Japan: Tier 2 in one room-match tally thanks to Encroaching Shadow; A in one JP guide. Not in Global; her Global banner is estimated around 2026-12-01. From guides

In Japan: One finalist won their final with a debuff Eishin Flash next to Narita Taishin and Daiichi Ruby. The outfit was not stated, but the same finalist's debuffer list names Eishin Flash [Precise Chocolatier]. The build is inherited 564 Escapades + Keen Eye + Dominator. Grass Wonder, Agnes Tachyon, Symboli Rudolf and Nice Nature [Run & Win] were named for the same job. Anecdote

Stats and aptitudes
| Target | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Recommended | 1500 | 650 | 1200 | 1100 | 1200 |
| Minimum | 1400 | 601 | 1000 | 900 | 1000 |
Stamina with a gold recovery skill: 601.Without one: 650.
Aptitudes: Mile S strongly preferred (A minimum), Turf A, running-style A. Narita Taishin's base Mile is D, so she needs Mile sparks.
From guides Stamina is the only real disagreement between guides. One finalist's guide (Speed 1500 / Power 1200 / Guts 1200 / Wit 1200) estimated about 670 for Front Runners, 610 for Pace Chasers, 560 for Late Surgers and 580 for End Closers. A JP wiki says 601 plus 1200 Guts finishes with no recovery, though Heavy ground was 'said to need' 650-700. Another guide asked for 650 (700 for Pace Chasers) with 1200 Guts; two more asked for 700. Stamina and Guts are the course-bonus stats, so 601 and 901 are worth reaching. Heavy ground cuts Power, so keep it at 1200+. The room-match tally put Guts at 1000+ in practice. stamina_with_gold = 601 is an inference: a gold recovery skill is worth about 120 Stamina, but you still want the 601 course-bonus line.

Skills
Inherited uniques 7
- Let's Pump Some Iron!Late SurgerEnd CloserMejiro Ryan's unique: a late-race corner acceleration that also triggers Lightning Surge. One JP guide recommends King Halo [Cheerleader in Noble White] + Mejiro Ryan as parents for back styles.
- Louder! Tracen Cheer!Late SurgerEnd CloserThe unique of King Halo [Cheerleader in Noble White]: a final-straight acceleration if she stayed far back in the first half. It is the standard inherit for back styles here, and it pairs with Lightning Surge and Encroaching Shadow.
- Budding BlossomPace ChaserEnd CloserNishino Flower's unique: an acceleration from 3rd to 40% position after a mid-race corner challenge. It is the main Pace Chaser inherit, and it also powered the 'Budding Blossom' Narita Taishin build that won one finalist's final. It needs several Pace Chasers on the field, and Nishino Flower and Narita Taishin have low compatibility for inheritance.
- Give Mummy a Hug ♡Pace ChaserThe unique of Super Creek [Chiffon-Wrapped Mummy]: a final-straight boost when in the top 4 and close behind someone. One JP guide recommends Super Creek [Chiffon-Wrapped Mummy] + Nishino Flower as Pace Chaser parents.
- Angling and SchemingFront RunnerSeiun Sky's unique. Two JP guides call it required for any Front Runner, and a third recommends Seiun Sky + El Condor Pasa as Front Runner parents.
- Victoria por plancha ☆Front RunnerPace ChaserEl Condor Pasa's unique. A JP wiki: required with Angling and Scheming for Front Runners; one finalist's guide also lists it for front-positioned Pace Chasers.
- 564 EscapadesEnd CloserThe unique of Gold Ship [RUN! RUIN! LAUNCHER!] forces 2 rare skills to fire regardless of their conditions. That is how Dominator, a Medium-only skill, works at a Mile. One finalist's guide calls 564 + Keen Eye + Dominator on an End Closer the standard debuffer.
Gold skills 10
- Lightning SurgeLate SurgerEnd CloserThe defining late-race acceleration of this CM (overtaking from 40%+ back on Sprint/Mile); one finalist's guide: without it a Late Surger 'isn't even in the ring'. In JP it comes from the Daiichi Ruby Power SSR, and Global has that card (30114, Ah, Such Majesty).
- Encroaching ShadowEnd CloserEnd Closer acceleration on a straight during the last spurt. Here late-race starts about 8 m before the straight, so it fires almost on time. It is the core of Narita Taishin and Mr. C.B.
- Daring StrikeEnd CloserMid-race speed for an End Closer at the back. Listed by two JP guides; in JP it comes from the Mr. C.B. Wit SSR, which Global has (30097).
- Full of VigorLate SurgerEnd CloserMile speed boost when at the back on the final corner. A JP wiki lists it for Late Surgers and End Closers; in JP it comes from the Bamboo Memory Guts SSR (30094 in Global).
- On Your Left!Late SurgerLate Surger acceleration at the start of late-race. One finalist's guide recommends it as the backup to Lightning Surge.
- Razor-Sharp StepsEnd CloserNot in Global yetEnd Closer acceleration if she stays at the back without getting Rushed until late-race. It was part of the build of the Narita Taishin that won one finalist's final. Not in Global yet.
- Neck and NeckPace ChaserPace Chaser acceleration at the start of late-race when near the front. A JP wiki lists it for Pace Chasers, and Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] has it built in.
- Mile MavenPace ChaserFront RunnerMile-only gold skill that widens the lead late in mid-race. It is on a JP wiki's Pace Chaser list and comes built in on Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories].
- Speed StarPace ChaserPace Chaser final-corner skill. Its evolved 4-second form is what made Sakura Chiyono O Tier 1 in JP. Global has only the base 1.8-second version, so expect less.
- UnrestrainedFront RunnerRunawayFront Runner final-corner skill when in 1st. A JP wiki says Front Runners need it, and it is what makes a Runaway Silence Suzuka work.
Green skills 5
- Left-Handed ○Front RunnerPace ChaserLate SurgerEnd CloserRunaway+40 Speed. ★★★ in a JP wiki; first green skill to stack.
- Spring Runner ○Front RunnerPace ChaserLate SurgerEnd CloserRunaway+40 Speed. ★★★ in a JP wiki (also Spring Runner ◎ and Spring Spectacle).
- Wet Conditions ○Front RunnerPace ChaserLate SurgerEnd CloserRunaway+40 Power, which offsets the Power loss from Heavy ground. ★★☆ in a JP wiki.
- Tokyo Racecourse ○Front RunnerPace ChaserLate SurgerEnd CloserRunaway+40 to a stat (Stamina per the cup data). ★★☆ in a JP wiki, same as Standard Distance ○. Rainy Days ○ is lower at ★☆☆.
- Lone WolfLate SurgerIt only works if no other runner in the race has it. One finalist's guide: worth it on Daiichi Ruby (she gets it from her event), but drop it on Narita Taishin and others, and it can fail anyway if opponents bring Daiichi Ruby or Narita Taishin.
Debuffs 3
- Speed EaterFront RunnerMile-only mid-race speed steal from runners behind. A JP wiki rates it ★★★ and required for Front Runners.
- Keen EyeEnd CloserLate SurgerMile-only: from the back, it cuts the speed of runners ahead and recovers a little. It fires on its own here and is on two JP debuff lists. One finalist's guide warns it fires around mid-race, so only 564 + Dominator actually hits late-race speed; do not expect too much from it.
- DominatorEnd CloserA Medium-only late-race slow. At a Mile it fires only through 564 Escapades (a JP wiki: '564 + Dominator'). Do not take it without 564.
Team compositions
Narita Taishin (End Closer) + Daiichi Ruby (Late Surger) + End Closer debuffer with 564 / Keen Eye / Dominator (e.g. Eishin Flash [Precise Chocolatier])
Anecdote Called the standard team by one finalist, who won the JP final with it (73-8 across the rounds, self-reported). Daiichi Ruby and the debuffer slow the field while Narita Taishin closes. In Global it is only possible once Daiichi Ruby arrives (estimated December 2026).
Narita Taishin (End Closer) + Daiichi Ruby (Late Surger) + Pace Chaser (Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] or Sakura Chiyono O)
Anecdote One per style, so you have a winner whatever the pace. One Graded League Group A finalist went 65-15 in the rounds with this team and won their final when their Taiki Shuttle led from the inside. A JP wiki also suggests 2 Pace Chasers + 1 back, or 1 Pace Chaser + 2 back.
Global without Daiichi Ruby: Narita Taishin (End Closer) + Sakura Chiyono O or Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] (Pace Chaser) + Bamboo Memory / King Halo [Cheerleader in Noble White] (Late Surger) or a 564 debuffer
Inference Keeps the JP shape (one stable front-ish runner plus two back threats) using only Umas Global already has. Daiichi Ruby's role as a Lightning Surge carrier and debuffer is split between the Daiichi Ruby Power SSR and a 564 debuffer.
Budget: El Condor Pasa (Pace Chaser) + Mejiro Ryan + Vodka (Late Surger); swap one for Agnes Tachyon as a debuffer
From guides One JP guide's low-budget team for the CM; all three are in Global.
1 × Late Surger + 2 × End Closer
Anecdote Called the standard team by one finalist, who won the JP final with it (73-8 across the rounds, self-reported). Daiichi Ruby and the debuffer slow the field while Narita Taishin closes. In Global it is only possible once Daiichi Ruby arrives (estimated December 2026).
1 × Pace Chaser + 1 × Late Surger + 1 × End Closer
Anecdote One per style, so you have a winner whatever the pace. One Graded League Group A finalist went 65-15 in the rounds with this team and won their final when their Taiki Shuttle led from the inside. A JP wiki also suggests 2 Pace Chasers + 1 back, or 1 Pace Chaser + 2 back.
1 × Pace Chaser + 1 × Late Surger + 1 × End Closer
Inference Keeps the JP shape (one stable front-ish runner plus two back threats) using only Umas Global already has. Daiichi Ruby's role as a Lightning Surge carrier and debuffer is split between the Daiichi Ruby Power SSR and a 564 debuffer.
Debuffers
Useful One finalist's guide rated debuffing ★★★+ and put an End Closer debuffer (564 + Keen Eye + Dominator) in the standard team. It suggests filling a slot you could not finish with a debuffer. Daiichi Ruby debuffs too, at the start of late-race, which helped make her the most used Uma. Keen Eye fires natively at a Mile but early, while Dominator needs 564. One course analysis warns that a debuffer can get in your own ace's way, so do not add one without thinking. Front Runners can use Speed Eater.

What may differ in Global
- Not in Global's roster (master of 2026-10-02): Daiichi Ruby 108501, Daitaku Helios 106501, Mr. C.B. 105701, Ines Fujin [Melt Your Heart] 103102, Sakura Laurel 107601, Tanino Gimlet 108401, and Nishino Flower [Sweet Juneberry] 105102 / Hishi Amazon [Hungry Veil] 101202. Estimated Global banners: Daitaku Helios 2026-11-06, Ines Fujin [Melt Your Heart] 2026-11-13, Mr. C.B. 2026-12-01, Daiichi Ruby 2026-12-11, Sakura Laurel 2027-01-02, Tanino Gimlet 2027-01-29, Nishino Flower [Sweet Juneberry] and Hishi Amazon [Hungry Veil] 2027-02-05. These are estimates; verify before the CM.
- Evolved skills: Global has none (0 of 1072 evolved ids). Several JP picks leaned on them: Sakura Chiyono O (4 s Speed Star, Spring Spectacle +80), Narita Taishin (evolved Encroaching Shadow), Daiichi Ruby (debuffing evolved Lightning Surge), Daitaku Helios. Expect Sakura Chiyono O in particular to be weaker in Global.
- Scenario: JP trained these Umas in Grandmasters (with the Three Goddesses card highly valued). Global's latest scenario is Grand Concert (2026-07-22); Grandmasters is estimated for Global around 2026-12-01. Stat totals and inheritance may differ.
- Skills not in Global yet: Razor-Sharp Steps, Divine Speed, Superb Gait, Solid Preparation, plus Part the Clouds and Vying for the Throne, which have no Global entry.
- The support cards behind the key gold skills are already in Global: Daiichi Ruby Power SSR 30114 (Lightning Surge in JP), Mr. C.B. Wit SSR 30097 (Daring Strike), Bamboo Memory Guts SSR 30094 (Full of Vigor). That they give the same gold skills in Global is an inference.
- Course and skill mechanics after JP's February 2023 course fix are assumed equal in Global (inference). Later JP balance patches are not part of this precedent.
Gaps in the data
- No measured usage or win data with n for this CM: no winner stats were published for it, no per-round usage survey or fixed-point room-match report was found, and the one room-match tally survives only as text rankings. use_pct, win_pct and n are null for every style.
- Front Runners and Runaways per room cannot be calculated. Only one full room is known (a Graded League Group A final: 0 Front Runners, 5 Pace Chasers, 2 Late Surgers, 2 End Closers), so the lobby fields are null.
- Global dates disagree: the local cup data says 2027-01-23, while another estimate puts the Global MILE CM around 2027-02-16. With the later date, Tanino Gimlet, Nishino Flower [Sweet Juneberry] and Hishi Amazon [Hungry Veil] could also be out.
- All Global arrival dates for missing Umas, the Grandmasters scenario and evolved skills are estimates.
- The stamina target varies by source (560-700); 601 vs 650 on Heavy ground was never settled with data.
- The outfit names of Mr. C.B. and Daitaku Helios could not be cross-checked against an official Global title, because those cards are not in Global.
