Summary

  • Run Front Runners: they took 47 of 70 non-test wins (67%) in 100 JP Room Match races; End Closers won none.
  • Copano Rickey [Eightfold☆Fortune] (in Global) is the ace: 43 of those 70 wins and 13 of 38 Finals winners in a player survey; Smart Falcon [Twilight Triumph] is the second Front Runner, Oguri Cap [Ashen Miracle] or Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] the Pace Chaser option.
  • Mile S first; Dirt A is enough. Aim for about 1500/700/1300/1100/1200; 650 stamina is the floor.
  • The late race starts on corner 3 (1067 m): corner accels work (Angling and Scheming for Front Runners; Moving Past, and Beyond or Let's Pump Some Iron! for Late Surgers); final-corner accels come too late.
  • Take the six cup greens: Rickey's unique peaks only with 6+ active greens. Ignore Collaborative Graded Races ○.
  • JP winners also used evolved skills, High Voltage and Divine Speed, which Global does not have yet: expect a weaker Rickey and plan white substitutes.

Guides: Rickey + debuffer + second ace; preserve the back runners' rank range.

Running styles

Styles the guides favor: Front Runner

Use is the share of rival Umas that ran each style in Japan: how popular it was, not how often it won.

Result: wins or first places in room matches set up in Japan with this CM's conditions. Small samples, not Global and not a win rate in the real event.

StyleVerdictUse in JapanResult in JP roomsNote
Front RunnerBest38 %67 %of room winsMeasured Includes any Runaways (counted as Front Runners). Raw Front Runner wins were 29 and 32 of 50; 67% excludes the test Umas of that Room Match series (20 of 32 early, 27 of 38 late). Rival usage was about 31-37% if every Rickey ran Front Runner. Rickey alone took 43 of the 70 non-test wins. An early JP guide's forecast that Front Runners would struggle was wrong. Sample: use: 20 of 52 style picks by 32 survey respondents; wins: 47 of 70 non-test winners in 100 Room Match races (two samples)
RunawayWeaknot counted—Inference No source measured Runaways on this course. One JP guide only lists it as an option (Silence Suzuka [Emerald Tidings] or Daitaku Helios [Fun☆Fun☆Party Night], with Dirt sparks and ~1500/900/1100/1100/1100); neither Uma is in Global. Suzuka won 1 of 50 late Room Match races, counted as Front Runner. Sample: no separate count; Runaway-capable Umas were 2-3% of 300 rival Umas in Room Match
Pace ChaserViable25 %14 %of room winsMeasured Third style. Non-test wins: 7 of 32 early (Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] 4) but 3 of 38 late. Pace Chasers have no strong inherited unique. A JP build guide rates Pace Chaser below Front Runner; Hokko Tarumae wants 3rd-4th place and rooms with few Front Runners. Survey Finals: Oguri Cap [Ashen Miracle] 3 and Hokko Tarumae 3 of 38 winners. Sample: use: 13 of 52 survey style picks; wins: 10 of 70 non-test Room Match winners
Late SurgerViable29 %19 %of room winsMeasured Second style by wins: 5 of 32 early, 8 of 38 late; the late Room Match sample rated it above Pace Chaser. Its accel works because the late race starts on corner 3: inherit Moving Past, and Beyond (9 of 11 Late Surger winners) and/or Let's Pump Some Iron!, and take On Your Left! (High Voltage often misses because so many runners are ahead). Sample: use: 15 of 52 survey style picks; wins: 13 of 70 non-test Room Match winners
End CloserAvoid8 %0 %of room winsMeasured No End Closer win in either Room Match sample; a JP guide advises against End Closer on this course. Short final straight (308 m) after a flat oval. Sample: use: 4 of 52 survey style picks; wins: 0 of 70 non-test Room Match winners

Expected room

Front Runners per room (Runaways included): 3.2 on average, from 1 to 6. Runaways per room: 0.2 on average, from 0 to 1. Inference

Upper bound: some Rickeys ran Pace Chaser or Late Surger, so rooms may have had slightly fewer pure Front Runners, but the Room Match observers expected the Finals to converge on Rickey and one Graded League finalist expected about 5 front-side runners (Front Runners + Pace Chasers) in his Finals, so the real Finals probably had 3 or more. The Front Runner figure includes the few possible Runaways. No source counted Runaways separately, and the three Runaway-capable Umas used in JP are not in Global.

Without one: 700.

Aptitudes: Mile S first: 25 of 32 late and 17 of 29 early Front Runner winners had it. Dirt A is enough (only 7-11 Front Runner winners had Dirt S). Rickey starts at Dirt A / Mile A; Oguri Cap [Starlight Beat], Oguri Cap [Ashen Miracle] and Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] are Dirt B and Maruzensky [Hot☆Summer Night] Dirt D in Global data, so they need Dirt sparks.

From guides Recommended = a JP guide's ideal (1500/700+/1300+/1200+/1200+) with guts set to the Room Match winners' average (1104-1189). Minimum = that guide's compromise (1400/650/1000/900/1000); another guide's beginner line is 1400/650/1100/800/800. Room Match winner averages: Front Runner 1434-1443/723-726/1276-1278/1104-1107/1215-1227; Pace Chaser 1441-1451/710-732; Late Surger 1404-1439/700-736. Stamina 650 minimum because the course has no downhill; 700 if you expect stamina debuffs. Nobody gives a with/without-gold split: winners carried almost no recovery skills at this distance. JP stats came from Grandmasters; Global trains in Grand Concert.

Debuffs 1

  • 564 EscapadesLate SurgerThe JP debuffer kit: a Dominator holder (Grass Wonder [Stone-Piercing Blue], Nice Nature [Run & Win]) inherits it. In the skill data it fires a random owned gold, so the Medium-only Dominator (201151) goes off on this Mile. One JP guide: stamina debuffs in Round 1 and Round 2, accel and speed debuffs in the Finals.

Team compositions

  • Copano Rickey [Eightfold☆Fortune] (Front Runner) + Smart Falcon [Twilight Triumph] (Front Runner) + Wonder Acute [Butterfly Sting] (Pace Chaser)

From guides A JP guide's model team; another guide's has Hokko Tarumae (not in Global) instead of Wonder Acute and says to run two or more Front Runners. All three are in Global with Dirt A.

  • Copano Rickey [Eightfold☆Fortune] (Front Runner) + Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] (Pace Chaser) + Agnes Digital [Full-Color Fangirling] (Late Surger)

From guides That first guide's second team: one per style, so one of them fits whatever pace the room sets.

  • Copano Rickey [Eightfold☆Fortune] + one more ace + Grass Wonder [Stone-Piercing Blue] or Nice Nature [Run & Win] as debuffer (Dominator + 564 Escapades)

From guides The most common JP room team in both Room Match samples; their observers think it changes win rates, but no debuffer won and no source measured the effect.

  • Budget: Oguri Cap [Starlight Beat] (Late Surger) + El Condor Pasa [El☆Número 1] + Haru Urara [Bestest Prize ♪]

From guides Budget team of the second guide for players without Rickey; all three are in Global (Oguri Cap and El Condor Pasa at Dirt B).

  • 2 × Front Runner + 1 × Pace Chaser

From guides A JP guide's model team; another guide's has Hokko Tarumae (not in Global) instead of Wonder Acute and says to run two or more Front Runners. All three are in Global with Dirt A.

  • 1 × Front Runner + 1 × Pace Chaser + 1 × Late Surger

From guides That first guide's second team: one per style, so one of them fits whatever pace the room sets.

Debuffers

Depends on the room Very common in JP rooms (Grass Wonder [Stone-Piercing Blue] was the 2nd-3rd most used Uma; 13 of 32 survey respondents used a debuffer, nobody used a blocker) but never among the winners, and no source measured how much they help. One JP guide saw adoption rising. If you use one, the kit is Dominator + inherited 564 Escapades; another guide suggests stamina debuffs in Round 1 and Round 2 and accel/speed debuffs in the Finals. Grass Wonder, Nice Nature [Run & Win], Dominator and 564 Escapades are all in Global.

What may differ in Global

  • Grandmasters is not in Global (Global data of 2026-10-02): every evolved skill is in not-in-game. 27 of 29 and 27 of 32 JP Front Runner winners carried evolved skills (Rickey's own two included), so a Global Rickey will be weaker than the JP one, though still the best pick (inference).
  • Golds the JP winners relied on are not in Global yet: High Voltage (202671), Divine Speed (202551) and Solid Preparation (201602). Use Groundwork (201601), Straightaway Adept and the Mile / Front Runner corner and straight whites instead.
  • In JP, Grandmasters arrived between CM22 and CM23. If Global keeps that order, it could land before Global CM26 (2027-02-13) and most of this report would transfer; that is an inference, not a confirmed date.
  • Umas JP used that Global does not have: Hokko Tarumae [Starry Lightship] (109901, with her inheritable Shine On, Tomakomai! ☆), Sakura Laurel [Saisir le rêve] (107601), Silence Suzuka [Emerald Tidings] (100202), Daitaku Helios [Fun☆Fun☆Party Night] (106501), Shinko Windy [Wicked Punk] (104301), Ines Fujin [Melt Your Heart] (103102).
  • Skill conditions that differ between current JP data and Global: Taking the Lead / Early Lead (Global: early race; JP now: always) and Leap Forward / Lightning Surge (Global order_rate >= 50; JP now >= 40). Which version JP had in August 2023 could not be verified.
  • Collaborative Graded Races ○ (202252) shows up in 26-27 Front Runner winners' kits, but it needs a Dirt graded race and a JP guide warns it may not fire in CM: do not count it as one of Rickey's greens.
  • Global aptitudes: Maruzensky [Hot☆Summer Night] is Dirt D; Oguri Cap [Starlight Beat], Oguri Cap [Ashen Miracle], Taiki Shuttle [Bubblegum☆Memories] and El Condor Pasa [El☆Número 1] are Dirt B; they need Dirt sparks. JP trained in Grandmasters, Global in Grand Concert.
  • All usage and win figures come from JP Room Matches set up like Graded League Finals (Group A) and from a self-selected survey, not from the real CM Rounds. A Rickey and Hokko Tarumae rerun banner during Round 2 pushed Rickey usage up (one player's report).

Gaps in the data

  • No measured data from the real CM Rounds (no per-round usage report was found for this CM): usage and wins come from Room Match observation (100 races, test Umas of that series excluded) and a self-selected survey.
  • Front Runners and Runaways per room are estimates from Room Match rival usage x 9, assuming every Rickey ran Front Runner; nobody counted Runaways separately.
  • Use percentages by style come from survey style picks (respondents could pick several), not from Uma-level usage.
  • No source gives stamina with versus without a gold recovery, so stamina_with_gold is null.
  • Runaway: no data at all on this course.
  • Not verified: which versions of Early Lead / Taking the Lead and Leap Forward JP had in August 2023, and the exact scaling of Rickey's unique per green (only a JP guide's '6 or more').
  • Not known: whether Grandmasters, Hokko Tarumae or High Voltage reach Global before 2027-02-13.
  • One guide's Pace Chaser page (403) and one blog (404) could not be read.
